There was a little girl, and she had a little curl

HNR 424 / K 80

a
There was a little girl, and she had a little curl
Right in the middle of her forehead;
When she was good she was very, very good,
But when she was bad she was horrid.

b
One day she went up stairs, while her parents, unawares,
In the kitchen were occupied with meals;
And she stood up on her head, on her little truckle-bed,
And then began hurraying with her heels.

c
Her mother heard the noise and thought it was the boys,
A-kicking up a rumpus in the attic;
But when she climbed the stair, and saw Jemima there,
She took her and did whip her most emphatic.
