Concordance screen shot

This screen shot was taken on my Macintosh using Soft Windows 95. The original screen shot was very large (1037 x 797), so has been shrunk so as to fit smaller screens. Consequently, the screen shot will be easier to see if you save it to your hard disk, and then use your own photo software to view it.

On starting 'Concordance' the user is faced with a blank screen. The first thing the user does is select a file in which to search (only one file can be searched at any one time). The user can create concordance lines for all the words in the text, or just one word. Once the concordances appear the user can click on any one concordance line to see an expanded context. It is also possible to discover the frequency of collocates of the node words as well as the position of the collocates relative to the node words. Perhaps the most useful (and unique) aspect of Concordance, is its ability to create 'Web concordances' i.e. it will automatically create html pages of the search results. See an example 'web concordance'.
